String Project Week 26 Goal

————————————————————————

The String Project

Week 25 Recap:

For week 25 goal (8/25 - 8/31), represented by my green string, I had to:

-Make and drink at least 5+ cups of natural juice SUCCEEDED!

I’ve come to love juicing so of course, I even surpassed what I intended to put out for myself. I pretty much drank a tall glass of juice every day last week, and even until now, I’m still doing it! I actually wake up 15-20 minutes earlier every morning just so I could make my juice before catching the bus for school. Making time for a refreshing cold natural juice in the morning over doing my hair and makeup? Heckyes! :)

SOOO anyway, as promised - I’ll let you know how I juice without an expensive juicer. You can see the steps in the pictures above. All you need is your blender and a paint strainer. I got two paint strainers at Lowe’s for about $2. You basically pick your veggies/greens and fruit and puree them in your blender with some water and a couple of ice cubes. Then, cover a bowl with the strainer and pour your juice content into that. Using your mighty muscles, squeeze out all of the juice and you’re done! The strainer will catch all of the pulp so you can just flip it inside out and discard all of that away… OR you can eat that if you like? :3

My favorite juicing recipe so far is 1 apple, 1 carrot, 1 cucumber, loads of spinach and kale, and a little ginger or lime (I don’t have to worry about getting my daily servings of veggies anymore ;D). The juice is so beautiful and deep in color, and I actually love that it tastes very green. I’m actually planning on doing a 3-day juicing body cleanse in the future when I’m ready for it!

The best thing that came out of this one-week experience? Juicing is doing wonders for my skin. (:

For week 26 goal (9/01 - 9/07), represented by my yellow string, I will:

-Meditate daily

I wanted this month’s goals to challenge me to try something new. Even though I have tried meditation before in an attempt to help me relieve my stress, I just didn’t get it. I would always drift off and fall into a short nap or find my thoughts circling in my head. I didn’t know what I was doing, and I couldn’t understand anything.

This week, I’m going to attempt it again. As difficult as it is, I will just let myself do it. Less thinking, more doing. I’m also reading a book on chakra and meditation, so that will help a bit! I’ll let you all know about my progress in a few days!
